when does stanford release regular decisions?

around what date does stanford release its decisions?

Last week of March/first week of April.

It just kind of comes out of the blue, and you’ve been ransacked before you even know what hit you.

But I’d put my money on March 26.

Are decisions released via email (since Stanford doesn’t seem to have an admissions status page for applicants)?

^ they are released via e-mail

Oh, that’s quite a bit more nerve-racking than a letter! Ah, I pray that I get in!

according to the stanford website decisions will be emailed on april 1 at 5pm mhmmm. :(

When you least expect it.

Like on a Friday when you expect it on Monday.

Pretty cool to unexpectedly (but I knew) to see an email from Stanford titled “You Stanford Admission Decision”

But yea from what I have seen on CC, Stanford is one of the top schools that releases its decisions early but given the amount of applicants April 1st?

I bet they come out March 27th, around 5 pacific

April 1st PST 5PM

[Admission News : Stanford University](<a href=“Page Not Found : Stanford University”>Page Not Found : Stanford University)

April 1st is a wednesday though, which is a weird day IMO. They might change it. I know for SCEA Stanford claimed decisions were coming out Monday, December 15th, but they suprised us all by sending them out Friday, December 12th…So you never know. Don’t take posted dates to be 100% fact.

For SCEA, that site said they would come out the 15th…they came out the Friday before that. Check back in previous years, I’m pretty sure they always come out the Friday before.

Basically April 1 is a “we have 30000 applications to sort through and the power has been out for a week” kind of boundary, I think.

So they don’t get calls like they would if they had anticipated releasing decisions on March 21 but just couldn’t narrow it down kind of situation.

Ugh, that’s 8 o’clock for me then since I’m on the East Coast! How annoying.

I talked to a counselor that I’ve been e-mailing with and she said that, in the past, Stanford has released decisions a few days before April 1st, but, this year, will probably release on the first given the increase in applications…hope this helps.

I think Stanford would release decisions on March 27. In past years, Stanford always released their decisions on the last Friday of March (according to their '07 and '08 releases). Their decisions usually come before or around the time the Ivy League colleges release their decisions.

Ugh, imagine getting it on April 1. If it was an acceptance I’d be nervously waiting for the “april fools” email…

Everyone’s thought of the “april fools” e-mail. Luckily, it does not happen. As I said earlier, Stanford releases its decisions on the last Friday of the month, usually. This year the decision date could possibly be March 27.

a friday would make sense - it gives them a reprieve from depressed students and angry parents 'cause they’re closed on the weekend lolz.

haha yeah. i would expect a lot of angry calls and setting them out on Friday would be a smart move.

I can imagine what it’ll look like:
AO: Everyone ready?
Everyone: Yeah. Go ahead.
pushes send button on a billion emails
AO: EVERYONE LOCK DOWN AND RUNNNNNN

^LOL i can hella see that.
