Hahahah I like how you compare it to a relationship. (:
flirting and adultery. LOL.
i think a lot of us are going to be slightly disappointed if stanford decisions dont come out this friday... ):

I will experience grave agony if I don't find out on Friday.

And the "Congratulations" isn't always as obvious. I've gotten multiple letters from a state school concerning a scholarship that started with "Congratulations" and "I'd like to congratulate you," and neither of them were acceptances for the scholarship (the latter was actually REJECTION! How cruel?!).

^***? a rejection starting with congratulations??! i would seriously start jumping when i saw that, then like collapse when i saw it was a rejection

Yeah, it sucked majorly. I was like, whaaaa? YEEAA- oh, crap.

lol ya Rice's decision started out with "Congratulations" in the subject line too

For me Rice included their decision in the subject line...so I knew what it said before I opened it.

I didn't have time to stress over opening it - I kinda hope Stanford does the same thing.

^What happened to the Rice rejectees? Did Rice say something like "WE'RE REALLY SORRY" in the subject line? Just curious...

Perhaps both Rice and Stanford should switch to what other schools use, like going on a secure server, signing on, then viewing your decision there. You can more time to breathe (or to die from a heart attack).

Stanford does not have call tracing software. It's a college, not the police department. We'll just have to wait for them to announce the date they'll be releasing decisions

It's called humor (the Brits call it "humour"). I just wanted to try to lighten up the tension going on while we wait for our decisions. After all, a few laughs can't hurt, can it?

That is all I have to say. Thank you.

the first word in the body of the letter is Congratulations.

That's why you should never check your decision using Gmail. LOL

I asked my Gmail account to forward all mail to my hotmail to prevent a possible heart attack or failure.

i didn't get an email from rice, but i saw all the chatter and logged into my rice account, and my status was updated.

still havent gotten an email, and this was 4 hours ago

LOLS @ FBlalalalala

I didn't get an e-mail from RICE so I checked the status on their website, they sure know how to break the news for you :p Admission status: Deny
thats about it haha

wow that's lame. it wasn't even the past tense of "deny". ITS THEIR PLOT TO MAKE YOU NOT GET PAST YOUR DECISION EMOTIONALLY

D: Sorry I've been terribly random all day today.

I ended up checking my Rice decision on my blackberry (I thought it was a text) in the middle of Waffle House.

I shouted "Ahh! I just into Rice!"
and the waitress came over and told me congrats and took my meal off the ticket. :)

lol yeah i was actually on the chicago forum when someone mentioned that rice decisions were up and i was like omg omg omg until my page finally loaded and i found out i got in....funny how we're discussing rice on the stanford forum right? lol

its kinda sad that we're discussing Rice especially after i got "Deny" :D

haha. I've already changed my gmail settings so that I can't see the snippets of emails in my inbox next to the subject line.... so nervous!!!!!!!!!!!

Waiting for the decisions is so nerve-wracking. I hope Stanford releases decisions on the 27th instead of the 1st.

^
I am SO on the fence about when I want them.

I mean, for all intents and purposes, it's as difficult to get into there as Harvard, Princeton, and Yale, and getting rejected/accepted at Stanford alone is really no indication of how one will fare with the other three.

So I think it just might be better to have most of them out of the way before Stanford, that way your expectations are at least accurately adjusted or you have one last great thing to look forward to but can sleep easy otherwise.

I mean, you could very well have a Princeton acceptance on the horizon, but those three days between Stanford and Princeton are going to be unnecessarily miserable if you don't get it.

You know what I'm saying?

On the other hand, if you do get in on that Friday, you've got great days ahead.

It's a toss-up.

I shouldn't be dwelling this much about it. It'll be over soon, anyway.
