^I believe the e-mail subject is "Your Stanford decision"

Of course, in my letter:

[quote]
It is with regret that I write to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission to the freshman class at Stanford University. Please know that this decision does not reflect any deficiency or weakness in your application. To the contrary, we are humbled by your talents and achievements and of all those who applied for admission this year.

Unfortunately, the large number of applicants for a relatively small incoming class means that we must disappoint the vast majority of very well-qualified candidates each year. Our decision is a reflection of that competition for admission and in no way should detract from the very impressive credentials you presented. We appreciate the effort and care that went into your application and I want to assure you that your candidacy received thorough and serious consideration. As a result, we are not able to consider appeals to this decision. To find some answers to the most commonly asked questions about our admission process, click here; I hope these will address any questions you may have about our decision.

I know this is disappointing news to receive and for that reason we will not send a duplicate notification of this decision by mail, unless you request one from us. If you wish to request a copy of this letter by mail, you may do so here, and one will be sent immediately.

_____, you are a fine student with solid support from your teachers and advisors and I am confident that you will enjoy great success in your undergraduate education. I only wish we had room for everyone with qualities and accomplishments like yours.

With best wishes for an outstanding undergraduate experience,
Stanford

I am going to memorize every single word of it, so when I receive it from Stanford, I'll be ready.

^ Was that the real SCEA rejection letter this year? If so, that is a really really nice one. Compared to some schools', that letter is downright angelic. It made me feel special :)

That is a pretty nice sentiment for a rejection letter.

Kumitedad, Stanford has an official email time and date of April 1, but in the past, the school has sent out results early, when you were least expecting it. Sometimes, it has been the Friday evening before the official date, so some are speculating that maybe Stanford will release early this year also.

yeah im gonna memorize the rejection letter, too. it sounds really nice.
im kinda sad though. it will really put me in a bad mood b4 ivy decisions on tuesday haha

It’s okay! In fact, Stanford sometimes in the past (as far as I remember) has accepted UCB rejects. It sometimes happens because the two schools view apps differently – one is a top private and one is a top public. UCB is more stats-focused.

Of course, (not to be too discouraging, just being realistic) most of us here … 90% + … will get the reject letter.

^We were off by a week with Chicago decisions. I wouldn’t be surprised if CC was off with Stanford too. Rumors are rumors. They aren’t necessarily true.

It just helps to perk up the little hope that we have left…
