I know U of C has a relatively lenient rescind policy and I don't plan on testing their limits but I am genuinely curious for some actual evidence pointing to when exactly they tend to threaten to rescind/rescind applicants.

Would getting mostly B's and a C or 2 threaten rescission? Assuming that I used to get mostly A's with a few exceptions.

I've heard that getting a D is what usually prompts rescission, is that true? Well that and felonies, I suppose but I'm not planning on doing either this semester...What about misdemeanors? How do colleges even find out about these things?

(Again, not planning on it, just curious)

Again, I'm not planning on testing their patience but I am genuinely curious and not at all planning on being lazy, rather I just have other very productive things I would like to focus on.

Other threads on this subject have provided conflicting information. Any anecdotal evidence from people would be helpful, as would statements from the admissions office:

We rescind offers of admission in only very extreme circumstances-- failing to graduate from high school, Ds and Fs on the transcript, trouble with the law, academic dishonesty, etc. Suffice to say these happen rarely. We encourage you to maintain the strong grades and performance you’ve shown on your previous record if you have been admitted, and please don’t “test the waters” to see what might or might not be acceptable (we DO check students’ final records and ask for an explanation of any out-of-the-ordinary declines we may see)-- but you don’t need to freak out over getting an extra B.

Don’t worry about it - your grades look fine.
My senior year was straight A’s first term, almost straight A’s second term, and for the last two terms, mostly B’s with some C’s sprinkled in.

Just don’t get in trouble with the law - if that happens, your college admission will be the least of your concerns.

I did hear though, that my year, a few students came to prospie weekend or something and reallyyyyy misbehaved and got their admissions rescinded.

oh, okay thanks for the heads up. I mean, I can say this behind the keys of an anonymous message board but on my overnight visit, I drank/did other questionable shenanigans…which makes me curious:

What exactly did those kids do on prospie weekend that got them rescinded?

I went to thank my regional counselor personally for my acceptance, and we ended up talking for a bit, and she told me about the seven kids who got rescinded…but didn’t tell me what they did. I can imagine it’s pretty bad, because prospies frequently drink and do other “questionable shenanigans”.

I was in NHS my senior year. However, I did not put my NHS memvership on any part of my application.
I got kicked out of NHS for non participation, and I believe my school will send a letter i forming you of this. I also have a 15k/year University Scholarship making the school affordable. Will this affect my acceptance or my scholarship?
