I am an international applicant, I’ll let you know when I get a delivery notification from DHL :)

I received a supplemental from USC, a mid year request letter sent by mail. Is this an indicator of anything? AHH the wait is getting to me!!

One of my friends moms is a alum and told me yesterday that USC will mail all acceptances and rejections by the 22, which means they should be received the following day at the earliest! yay!

We were told wave 1 is acceptances; wave 2 is acceptances whose packages then had to go to the Financial Aid office for additional information to be included and wave 3 is declines.

Additionally, my friend’s daughter (who is in Southern California) received her acceptance on March 11th two years ago – which was a Thursday.

@alamemom this is going to sound stupid, but how can you tell the difference between priority and first class mail? Is it the big vs. small envelope?

the time it takes to receive it

hahvad, Priority mail says “Priority Mail” on it. Also, there will be no trouble differentiating an acceptance - they come in a big 9" X 12" envelope. Rejections are a business-sized envelope.

Rice1961 - no financial aid information will be included in any of the admissions packages, so those requesting financial aid will not have a delay in their notifications. Financial aid will come later - usually the end of the first week of April. The “wave” system of the last several years is no longer being used. It appears all acceptances will be sent around March 20th (which is what admissions representatives were telling us back in January).

I do not know if rejections will come out at the same time, or a bit later.

@alamemom does USC take legacy into consideration??

From my observations on this board - not from any official source - legacy does not appear to carry much weight currently. The main benefit of legacy appears to be that USC offers special transfer counseling and preferred consideration for transfer admission to legacy applicants rejected as freshmen.

so if acceptances are sent around march 20th, does that mean rejections will be sent at the end of the month? If so, that would kinda suck because you would already know that you didn’t get in

this is my first CC post and I fear it’s a silly one, but how can USC send anything on March 20 if it’s a Sunday? Seems weird they’ve put that day out there for awhile…

^ Yeah, I’ve been wondering the same thing… Kind of weird.

As eyeslikerocks (above), this is my first post. I’m sorry if it’s redundant, but I could not find the info anywhere…
Are the letters different for acceptances and rejections? I’ve heard that some schools were sending small envelopes informing the decision to everyone, and then later mailed the big packet (if admitted). Is USC like that? or do they follow the big/small packet trend?

Aaaahhh… this wait is slowly eating what is left of my common sense. :/

haha @eyeslikerocks, i thought the same thing. someone on here, i dont remember who, has predicted that the letters will actually be mailed on friday the 18th. my birthday is the 19th so im hoping for good news:)

FCatunda., perhaps you should read the 2nd post on this page…

I know someone in the admissions office who says they plan to mail the letters on Tuesday (the 22nd)

yes i have also heard that they plan to mail the decisions on the 22nd

AHHH That seems so far but so close at the same time! Good luck to everyone!

noooooooooooo thats so far away!!! bummer:( but its good to have a clearer idea of when we might hear back! thanks guys

@alamemom Do spring acceptances come at the same time as fall acceptances? Will those be mailed out next week as well? Do you know how many spring admits USC takes?
