I have a friend going here, but he's on vacation and I can't contact him and I wanted to find out when he's going to be leaving town to move to UT Austin....

When does UT Austin start school, and when is move-in?

I have a friend going here, but he's on vacation and I can't contact him and I wanted to find out when he's going to be leaving town to move to UT Austin....

school starts on the 26th. regular move-in is the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. early move-in is the 18th, 19th, and 20th.

i find it weird that classes begin on a wednesday, in the middle of the week. i mean why don’t they just start on that monday? is there a specific reason for this? just wondering…

I think that when people start school, it takes a while to adjust. By starting on wednesday, we only have to endure 3 days and then have the weekend to get completely oriented. By Monday, most of us would already get the hang of things and be better prepared to take on a whole week of classes.

you’re complaining that we have five days between move in and classes starting? i’m celebrating! in more ways than one lol

I’m celebrating too. I’m a transfer student and I need all the time I can get to find my classes and other buildings.

It also makes the official “12th class day” fall on a Friday (the 11th). I’m not entirely sure why that is a good thing, but it makes it look nice on a calendar.

It takes like an hour to find all your classes. I’m not looking for them. As long as I know where the building is, I’m good.

I plan on sleeping and being as lazy as possible. But I have from the 17th of August to 26th to do nothing. :D

free time after move-in and only a few days in class for the first week. sweet! :D
