I'm taking Honors Precalculus next year (as a Junior) so about when I should have learned all the material necessary to make an 800 on Math II? Should I wait until May or is around January fine?

It would be best to wait until May/June, in my opinion. Perhaps take the SAT in Jan/March.

math 2 is a piece of cake… I skipped precalc and got an 800 (went straight into BC Calculus sophmore year).

Take it in May/June, agree with neekzg. This will give you ample time to study for the exam and take practice tests. Although it’s not too hard, it’s still good to study some and familiar yourself with the test. Mhm.

I took it in June and got an 800. I felt June was the ideal time to take the test for me. I just finished the Pre-Calc class and everything was fresh in my head. Also, because classes typically become less rigorous near the end of the year and AP’s end in early may, you have between your last AP (provided you are taking one) and the June SAT to study. A little less than a month is generally ample time to prepare for this test.

However, if you take a couple of practice tests and feel confident you can achieve your desired score before the Pre-Calc course is finished, it doesn’t hurt to take it early. Try it out.
