when exactly will UCLA release acceptance letters?

Hello, everyone. Does anyone know exactly when will UCLA release acceptace letters? I heard it's either 21st or 22nd! I can't wait!!!! Thank you in advance!

Best guess is 20-22.

How are we supposed to check our status since we don’t have any accounts with ucla?

i think there will be a link on the ucla.edu website on the day that admissions are released

There is a link I’ve used, that takes me to some personalized letter saying decisions aren’t out yet. I’m guessing this is the thing to use (perhaps its designed for freshmen, but it has my info in it, so it works)

https://www.admissions.ucla.edu/Decision/Login.aspx

^ Thank you!! :smiley: so I guess transfers also check on that website later?

So ucla has a different system of acceptance notification ?? Are you saying all decisions come out 21-22 on that one day or only acceptances? I am confused

@ berkeleyphil: Yup! That’s the one transfers use too. I remember it. :)

Also, if I remember correctly, UCLA came out on April 23rd last year around 7:00 PM. I was in speech class and bolted down to the computer lab when I got the email notification saying the decisions were released lol.

Ah, thanks for the link @santacruzstefan!

I know the decisions are out before Cal’s each year. I’m guessing it’ll be consistent to the April ~20 date from last year as emil said.

"We plan to begin notifying transfer applicants of our decisions starting in late April. "

@santacruzstefan thanks for the link

Last week of april; that means that it will be from the 22nd to the 29th.

@emilsinclair9 did u get accepted?

Does everyone’s letter come up with a UCLA ID in the top right hand corner? like 9 digits?

^Yep.

10char

@ asd: I applied as a psych major, was initially rejected, appealed and got accepted lol.

I was initially rejected because they overlooked a prereq of mine that I had done. In other words, they hadn’t noticed it on my transcript and rejected me for missing a prereq. However, when I called (incessantly) lol, I finally talked to someone who was willing to tell me why I was rejected, and when I found out, it was such a relief because I knew I had done that prereq.

In other words, I was eventually admitted. Also, if any of you guys get rejected, call them and ask why. Don’t let the first person who won’t tell you why or w.e. deter you.

Glad to hear you got in, makes me worried now. My CC only had one course listed on assist.org that transfered to UCLA all the others did not articulate. I took the one, but I have a feeling its gonna be a close one since I couldn’t take any others =/

Even though they say that “if a course is not available then they will not hold it against you for not taking it”, this really needs to be taken with a grain of salt!

It has become so competitive that, if a course is really EXTREMELY rare (i.e. something like 4 or 5 out of the 109 community colleges offer it, you’re OK if you don’t take it). However if it is a “common” course and every second CC close to yours offers that course, you’re expected to go there and take it!!

For example there are a few CCs I’ve noticed that don’t even offer some of the “regular calculus based physics” series. It’s as if science/engineering majors don’t even exist for them :rolleyes: …so in such a case you’re expected to take those from another nearby CC (unless, of course, you live in some remote part of the state where there are no other CCs around etc. …but then you’ll be expected to “compensate” for this lack by an ultra-high GPA (3.9-4.0) etc.)

has anyone else noticed it says late April 2010 for transfers on the website lol. threw me off a bit!

@sam0318 and it looks like they’ve not fixed it yet, lol. [Decision Notification - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/applicant/notify.htm)

^ wow i guess they just forgot and let it be from last year… as long as they release them in the next few days.
