<p>When you're given the choice to apply to programs/in general, is it better to cite your weighted or unweighted GPA? This is assuming the 4.0 scale for unweighted, and whatever else for weighted since there are so many different ones (I've heard some go to 5.0, even 6.0 scales?).</p>
<p>I'm hoping the answer is unweighted because so many different rules and regulations affect weighted that don't always have much to do with someone's actual academic ability. For instance, I have straight A's in AP and honors classes but my weighted GPA is lower than someone else's with the same courseload and grades because my middle school transfer credits aren't weighted, and the same with the summer school classes I took so I could take more advanced classes (summer classes have the EXACT same rigor).</p>
