Are the acceptances all in big envelopes? I have a small but seemingly thicker than a single page envelope waiting for my daughter who won't be home for several hours. What do you think it is? Waitlist?

acceptances in big envelopes

mine cost $2.35 to send first class

i got mine today in CT, i was waitlisted its pretty thick though because its two sheets plus an envelope

so reject if no word by today...

No word in VA...

but if I freaking get waitlisted by another school...

Waitlisted.
Thick envelop - the enclosed letter says they took 5 from the waitlist last year.
sigh
This is a stunningly difficult year for admissions -

I got accepted today :-)
I am not sure yet if I will be attending, but most likely I'll free up a spot for you who are on the waitlist...
Congrats to everyone who got accepted and good luck to the waitlistees!

IN!!! From Maryland. nice little personal note from the Dean at the bottom too. very happy :)

Nice thought ellmtree - unfortunately, schools admit more students than will actually enroll. This is their estimate "yield rate" - they plan on X% of admits to go somewhere else.

"so reject if no word by today..."

I called the admissions office and they said that they sent everything in one batch yesterday through the US Mail. So the fact that nobody on CC got rejected doesn't seem to illustrate anthing. I'm not giving up in MA.

Accepted, slightly happier after getting cornell waitlist.

1470/2190 sats top 10% semicompetitive highschool

congrats and good luck those still waiting

Colgate's waitlist letter was a real disappointment here - my son loved the school. His sister got in three years ago (ultimately very happy at Vassar). Frankly, son's application was stronger and he was hoping to go (Great GPA, SATs, summer advanced studies programs, Nat'l Park Student Conservation Corps volunteer..etc.)

This is just a stunningly difficult year for admissions in all L.A. colleges.

Good luck all.

I don't think that just because there is nobody posting a rejection at Colgate CC site that that means you won't get in. All it means is you didn't get your letter yet saying you're in. Good luck and stay positive.

My son got his today in Calif. It came FedEx, kinda weird. SAT 2100, GPA 3.8 or so. Great references, pretty good essays, no hook.

He was in top 25% of very competitive private school. Also accepted to Vassar, Vanderbilt, rejected by CMC (sigh --its local), waitlisted by Wash U.

if they really did send them all in one batch...then i'm not upset about not getting my letter.

if they're in 2...then i'm worried

I got in today!! yayy!! So it's definitely between Colgate and Brandeis...
