Ok so then hopefully they’re sen this Monday. Thanks

If you check the Vanderbilt admission blog, ED decisions were sent on a Wednesday in February.

^ look closer, you are incorrect. The blog says “Regular decisions mailed today” as the headline, and the blog is dated FRIDAY March 23. The blog does talk about the piles of envelopes in the bins on the tables that the writer saw that past Wednesday - but that is not the day they were mailed.

^ compnerd1000, where did you see that? There is nothing for 2013 regular decision letters mailed…

sorry for any confusion, my response was in reply to the discussion which was talking about last year. (People are trying to predict the send date for this year.) You are right, I have found nothing specific regarding anything having been mailed for RD for 2013 at this point.

Thanks for clarifying, I was getting confused that I was missing something.

If I were a betting person, I’d bet the letters are being sent today. Vanderbilt has updated all the admitted student websites with new information for RD admits. For the previous two EDs they posted a blog stating that the letters had been sent. Keep your fingers crossed.

Nothing yet on the blog so hopefully it’s today or at latet tomorrow

Couldn’t they already have been mailed on Friday?

They have done such a good job with the blog over the last 3-4 years and always post once the mail truck leaves in the afternoon. They will usually have pictures of the counselors and student workers doing the sealing of the priority mail envelopes and/or loading the mail trucks. Watch the blog around 3-4 today and tomorrow would be my advice. They always like to be ahead of the Ivies, so I can’t imagine mailing will be any later than tomorrow. Good luck to all!

anyboy,
If they had been mailed on Friday, the applicants in the Nashville area would have started receiving decisions on Saturday and it would be all over this forum. They are very good about updating the blog almost immediately after the mail truck leaves. It’s a much bigger job to get RD decisions out the door than it is to mail the ED decisions. They utilize many student workers in the process and the afternoon is a time when most are available. I have no basis to know anything other than past behaviors, but you shouldn’t have to wait too much longer!

They are being mailed today and international students should hear tomorrow afternoon central time VIA e-mail. Just talked to the admissions office.

Thanks Bearsox!

Thanks for the information!

Does anybody know how long it usually takes for mail to travel? Will everybody be getting letters on different days?

Thanks, bearsox!

Also, I’m from Nashville and did not receive anything in the mail today. (Just thought some of you might like to know)

^this shows the expected delivery date, but it varies depending on envelope size

If first class mail, and mailed today (pre-sorted etc.), I’d expect that most people within the 48 states will receive the mail by Friday. That’s based on my experience, having lived in several different parts of the country.

Here in the Boston area, I’ll look for it on Wed/Thu.

We’re in Minneapolis, and don’t expect to have it until Wed/Thursday. When ND mailed Thursday, we received Saturday.

They posted on the blog that the letters were shipped today.
