When/how do you find out how much the tuition will be?

Hello, I was already accepted to a few colleges, however I was wondering how I could find out how much the tuition for each college would amount to. Thanks for all of the help!

Did you not look on the college website to see what the cost of attendance is?

Also, each college has. Net price calculator which could give you an estimate if your net cost at a school. If your parents are divorced, own a business, are self employed, own real estate other than your primary residence, the NPC might not be accurate.

Or…assuming you submitted your financial aid application forms and other required financial aid submissions…you shoild get an aid package from each school.

Also…if you are a resident of Florida…will you qualify for Bright Futures?

How will you find out? You should have a student portal. Some schools post their financial aid there. Others will mail it to you.

Tuition and fees after financial aid?

Schools post their tuition, fees, housing and meal plan costs on their websites.

And like @thumper1 pointed out it is helpful to run net price calculators as well.

We had an idea what the estimated costs would be with the financial aid package we received in April.

But the actual costs we did not know until we received our first semester bill. It reflected tuition increase that became effective in July, course fees dependent on courses my D registered for, the actual dorm room she was assigned to and current cost of the meal plan.

Run the Net Price Calculator on each school’s web site (as you should have done before applying).

Thank you all for the help, and yes I was mainly looking for how I would find what my total cost would be, after the school determines how much financial aid they would give me, and how I would know how much aid they give me.

You need to check the student portal. They should send you a letter about FA, but it instead may be an email or even just get posted.

My daughter’s final tuition was posted on July 1. Then it was changed. Then it was billed again in mid July. Then more changes. Don’t ask me why. I think it was finally posted in late July, with some of the financial aid on the account page, but some was missing. It took me quite a few phone calls to straighten it all out. The bill was due Aug 11 that year and it was a race to the end. That school doesn’t send any bills by snail mail so you have to keep checking the portal.

This year, same thing. I had some trouble getting the FSA ID last year and it was almost July before I could get it to work, so the FA wasn’t posted until some time in July.
