Kids who don’t make the cut will get letters in January. Kids who make the NMF cut learn early February. For some reason 2/9 is ringing a bell.

Deep breaths :)

Based on http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/9490859-post5.html, check your mail on Saturday, January 12th.

So about one more month, and we’ll be able to either cry ourselves to sleep or expect that Certificate in February.

The majority of semi-finalists are named finalists. The ones who don’t generally have a less than stellar transcript (which can be appealed) or more often, didn’t complete the paperwork or the SAT in a timely fashion. Hope that helps you.

Sent from my SCH-I500 using CC

So, if no letter in January, the NMF is notified at the school and then by letter at home. Great!!! Thanks!

In my son’s NM paperwork it said that the principals receive a letter on 1/31; then on 2/7 the NMFinalist letter is mailed to the students’ homes. Can’t wait!

So tomorrow is the " I hope there is nothing in the mail " day!

So if we haven’t received anything by now, it’s safe to assume that we are finalists?

I spoke to the NM office at a university and was told the colleges DO NOT receive a list of Finalists. They depend on the student to let them know initially and then they confirm with NM Corp.
