Do I have to write the QB essays along with the Common App and supplement essays? (So 8 sup essays + common app?)
Also, if I find out my finalist status on Oct 22nd and have to write 8 essays by Nov 4, does that mean I should start writing essays even though I might not be a finalist?

Most schools that see both the QB and Common App specifically say you can reuse your essays. But it is a good idea to assume you will be a finalist and work on the requirements before the end of October!

Yale, for example:

So I can just use my bio QB essay for the common app #1 prompt?
nice!!

As long as your bio essay is under 650 words. That is the common app essay’s limit. Also remember that the essay must also fit the prompt. The common app no longer has a topic of your choice option.
