When I apply to a school...

... am I automatically up for their scholarships? I want to apply to the University at Albany, and I don't know whether or not I have to apply for their scholarships separately (Scholarships - SUNY at Albany (UAlbany) - Cappex). Am I automatically up for these scholarships upon applying, or do I do so separately from the application? Thanks.

It varies with the school and with the scholarship. The first thing to do is to go to the college FA website and look for scholarships. For SUNY Albany:

[Scholarship Applications - Office of Financial Aid - University at Albany-SUNY](Apply for additional scholarships | University at Albany)

It looks like separate applications may be necessary, but that the scholarship application process is closed for this cycle. Call or email the school if it’s unclear or you need more information.
