When I Grow Up...

Potential Major: Physics or CS major with Econ minor because Physics and CS is God-tier and Econ will provide me knowledge for my job.
Potential Schools: Yale, Harvard, Dartmouth, Princeton, Penn, Virginia, Duke, Emory, Rice
Career: What I’d want to do if everything were perfect is two or three years in IB followed by many years in buyside (Hedge Funds). One day I want to be a very good Hedge Fund Manager.
Why? To live the life I’ve always dreamed of, and to be able to make a load of money so my kids won’t have to live the life I’ve lived.

Major: Microbiology
Minor: Something in Math or Computer Science (especially Computer Networking)
School: Any respected school with excellent research opportunities, hopefully in southern California

** Potential Major: ** Astronomy/Astrophysics, etc.
** Minor: ** Life science or Artsy stuff

Potential Major/Minor (If applicable)- something biology-related
Potential Schools- who knows?! my parents have high hopes for me to get into an ivy, but don’t they all?
Career- Eventually I want to be a surgeon. Hooray for med school!
Why? It is something hands-on and won’t get boring. Medicine is always advancing and it would be cool to be a part of that. It will provide a solid income (providing our healthcare system isn’t totally destroyed). It will give me a chance to give back in a way.

Yes MIT. I believe, while they are scrapping the shuttle program, they are instating a new ship/pod deal which will be even cooler for aspiring astronauts.

I have two options:

  1. Major: Political science and then go to law school and get a Ph.D in law
    School: Harvard
    Career: Lawyer
Why: I am fascinated by law and I think it would be very exciting to argue my case in front of a judge. Also, I love the idea of being a defense attorney so that I can prevent innocent people from ending up on Death Row or in prison for life.

2.Major: Economics and then go to business school and get my MBA
Schools: Harvard, Georgetown, Yale, Penn
Career: CEO
Why: I could become very influential on Wall Street. I am innovative, hardworking, a strong leader, and I am always learning more about business and the stock market. Everyday I read Investor’s Business Daily and check the stocks.

Potential Major: the logical side of me says something I like that is useful, like chemistry or something else that actually might get me a job. emotions say DO WHAT YOU LOVE MAJOR IN THEATRE
School: Brown '15 hopeful.
Career: ****, I don’t know. Can’t I just be a student for the rest of my life?
Why: because the real world is scary

How do you deal with defending someone who is guilty? Or it looks like they’re guilty, any how.

career: i want to be a writer. but first i have to learn about something so i can write about it afterwards.
potential major:i am thinking double major in engilsh/history or history/political science or history/philosophy at either brown or middlebury.
why? i love to read, and love to write. the idea of creating worlds by simpling scribbling on a piece of paper is fascinating to me

^ middlebury has a pretty famous creative writing program (well, English with CW).

Potential Major/Minor (If applicable): Econ/Math double major or Math minor
Potential Schools: We’ll see next year
Career: IB -> HF/PE

Major: accounting, CS, econ, math, stats <– something from that set

Schools: everything from Wharton to OU

Career: IT consulting / database administration, actuarial science, strategy consulting, auditing, quantitative finance, software engineering

Why?: personal abilities/interests, diverse opportunities, high-pressure environment, good benefits/salary

Hobbithill- I would use any weak spot in the prosecution’s case against them. Then I would have a team of detectives figure out who the murderer actually was ( like they do on that old TV show “Perry Mason”). I would defend my client to the best of my ability until they were convicted (that is if they actually did commit the murder). Of course, I would be such a good defense attorney that my clients would hardly ever be convicted. My only problem is if my client actually commited the murder and I knew this for certain before the trial. Then I would not want to even be involved. I would just want the client to go to jail. Of course, I would have to defend the person because I want my pay check.

Potential Major/Minor (If applicable)- Economics, or some program with economics (Cornell AEM, Stern BPE, international economics, etc.)
Potential Schools- London School of Economics, Georgetown SFS, UChicago, Cornell Univ., NYU Stern, UCB, Northwestern
Career- Probably something in ibanking or like a private economic research firm type thing. Perhaps even politics if I get around to actually liking people enough to want to in any way help them.
Why? Why not?

Potential Major: Something sciency…biology, biochem., etc.
Potential Schools: bunch of UC schools most likely and a few Ivy’s and some random private schools
Career: Pharmacist (research rather than the one at hospitals, Walgreens, etc.)
Why? I want to.

^^ Yeah if you knew for certain, you’d almost have to suicide. But I think what happens is that the lawyer tells the client not to say if he’s guilty. Cause that just complicates things
