When if FAFSA a waste of time?

So if you do the calculations, and you are way out of eligiblity for any aid for any school, should you blow off filling out the forms?

Better put, if you make $1,000,000 a year should you waste your time (by the way I am just asking), I don't make $1,000,000 a year. But really at what level of income does it become a waste of time and energy. It can be very time consuming especially if you own your own business, etc.

If you expect some kind of merit aid, college sponsored scholarships or apply for any outside scholarships, generally they require the FAFSA regardles of how much money you make.
But if you can foot the entire bill, including books, computer, etc then yes it would be a waste of time.

If there is any chance whatsoever that in the time the student will be in college he/she may need financial aid because of a financial disaster in the family, it is best to have the FAFSA on file. There are any number of colleges and universities that will refuse to provide any financial aid in later years if the students did not file the FAFSA the first year. Bite the bullet and fill the thing out.
