I applied ED to Cornell AEM and was unfortunately rejected. I will most likely attend Michigan next fall and study Economics there.

BTW, here are my HS stats:
GPA: 3.5 UW
ACT: 31
SAT: 2090

I know that Cornell has both a Spring and Fall transfer option. If I applied for Spring '10 transfer, then I will be judged mainly on HS grades right, and maybe midyears correct? However, if I apply for Fall '10, then less emphasis will be on my HS grades and more on my entire freshman year at UMich right? Also I am reapplying for the AEM program. I'm guessing its harder to get in for that vs. Economics right?

Yeah, you’re right with that. I’m pretty sure you can’t apply for spring '10 though, you have to wait at least a semester and then apply after that one is over (1 year). So you would be applying for Fall '10. Not exactly sure on this so make sure.

If you do apply for Fall '10, a little less emphasis is put on your HS grades, but they are still looked at considerably. It would only be 1 year of college for you, so they will still be looking at those pretty closely I think. If you transferred after TWO years, then there would be more emphasis on your college grades, since they have a lot more to look at. Your HS grades are pretty good though, so I don’t think it would hurt if you pulled out better grades in college.

Make sure you call and ask for information about transferring. There are certain schools that REQUIRE you to take certain classes while in college before transferring, so just call/look on their website and plan AHEAD OF TIME.
