When is CalSO?

When is CalSO this year? I don't plan on submitting my SIR until mid April; will it be too late to register for CalSO at that point or am I just worrying too much? ;)

thanks!

What exactly is CalSO :O?

SIR isn't due until May 1st so I think mid April should be fine. That's when I'll be submitting mine anyway.. still trying to decide between Cal and UCSD lol.

The short answer is you want it to be as early as possible. ;) You sign up for classes at CalSO and the earlier you go, the better chance you have at getting into smaller classes (such as R1A, R1B) or getting good lab and/or discussion times for big classes (such as Math or Chem).

CalSO=Cal Student Orientation

Are you thinking of Cal Day? 'Cause that's something different.

Cal Day 2008, UC Berkeley

nah I'm thinking of CalSO. thank you jscg! when do i /should i register for CalSO? (would mid/late april be fine if i want a late june session?)

I highly recommend you choose the earliest CalSO possible if you want to have even a chance at a language class, or if you want to be able to choose between R1A/R1B classes. You sign up for classes at your CalSO session, on the second day (you can't before then because a counseling ID is required). I don't know when all the sessions will fill up, but the early ones definitely go fast so if you want to be able to choose I recommend doing so ASAP. You can always change it for like a $20 fee or something.
