When is ED due?

When is it due... in 24 hours or 48 hours? eastern or western

It’s rather disturbing that you’re posting such a vital question here rather than going to Princeton’s own website.

And seeing that Princeton in not on Pacific time, how is western time even in question?

Also one key word: Sandy

In the OP’s defense, Princeton’s web site is very, very slow for me this morning.

I have no idea whether Princeton has extended its ED deadline in the wake of the storm. But if it’s due Nov. 1, then Princeton expects it to be submitted on Nov. 1 (or, of course, earlier). So you may submit as late as Thursday night. But compute the time using Eastern Daylight Time.

First off, to avoid any confusion, Princeton does not have ED, it has EA, as in Single Choice Early Action (SCEA).

Secondly, the deadline is 11:59pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time on November 1st.

If you cannot submit your application because of Hurricane Sandy or for another personal issue: [Princeton University | Application Dates & Deadlines](http://www.princeton.edu/admission/applyingforadmission/deadlines/)

“The Office of Admission will be flexible in its Nov. 1 deadline for single-choice early action if Hurricane Sandy or any personal issues are making it difficult or impossible for you to file the appropriate forms. If you need to file late, please submit a brief explanation with your application.”

hey thanks you guys. I emailed and called but they are all off because of Hurricane Sandy. Also, because I live on the west coast, it is no excuse for me to turn in my application after the deadline

I am applying SCEA too! I just checked the website and because of the hurricane the deadline has been extended to Nov 7th for all applicants, so you have a little bit more time :)

i just saw that but I feel like if I was a west coast applicant, do you think it would look bad to turn in the application later?

Why do you need more time? Because you feel your essay is not perfect? I know many professional writers who are never satisfied with what they have written, no matter how much additional time they are given. Bottom line: Will waiting another week make your essay any better? I don’t think so – and besides, next to your transcript, your teacher recommendations are far more important than your essays. So, what are you waiting for?
