when is fin aid info available?

On the ISIS login page, it says that they will be available once decision mails have been sent. Well, they have, so they should be available soon, right? When will they be available?

Unless, the big 0 that currently shows up in my account is the actual offer...:S

i think the isis login page immediately gives you the number, atleast for ed decisions that was how it went.

you mean i get NO AID???!!! no $*@# way.............

yeah it showed me what i got for my fin. aid. and i'm regular decision.

is this just for need-based or does it include merit?

Oh I see I am not alone.... I had the big ZILCH for aid too!! I can't believe I didn't get a penny... I am hoping maybe I will get some merit that will be included in the info they send with the admission letter.... My EFC was 17K, so I thought I would get SOMETHING.... I thought maybe I was missing some forms, but then I read that they will give you a tentative financial aid package if you have only sent them the CSS and FAFSA, and get them the other stuff later.... I was only missing the student non-filer form..... I really want JHU, but I can't afford 50K !!!! :(

I got 30,000 in aid. Unfourtunately that leaves another 20,000 a year for me to come up with according to their estimated total cost. I'll have to see what the other schools leave me with.

coming up with 20K is a whole helleva lot better than having to come up with 50K!!! You should be happy! 30K is a pretty big chunk of change!

Hey - I found this on the financial aid site:

"6. Why can't I access my financial aid awards?

Prospective student financial aid awards are not available online until after admission decision letters have been mailed. For Early Decision applicants, this occurs in mid December, and for Regular Decision applicants, in the first week of April. Returning Undergraduate, Graduate and Part-Time student awards are made available online in late June. "

has any ED get the official aid number yet? mine is still in verification.

oh so if u havent given them the CSS and FAFSA (I'm an international), the aid will be calculated later?? urgh i really hope so.....

I've been able to see an aid amount in ISIS since roughly 5pm EST Wednesday when the decision emails were sent. So I guess that's it.

Guys, as a current Hopkins student, don't assume your aid numbers are concrete, or even posted, until you get the acceptance packet.

Is merit money generally available, or do you have to apply for specific merit scholarships?

You can get grants. I got a grant. Sometimes they are very large.

eggscellent. thank you!

I have said this many times in the past, and I will once again say it...
...financial aid is different for everyone. Asking one person about their financial aid does not mean the same will be true for you.

My strongest advice I can provide is that if you have questions about your personal financial aid package, award, application, etc. then you need to contact the Office of Student Financial Services. You can reach them by phone at 410-516-8028, on the web at <a href="http://www.jhu.edu/finaid%5B/url%5D">http://www.jhu.edu/finaid</a>, or via email at fin_aid@jhu.edu.

Finally, it you do not have access to ISIS or are having problems with it, you need to contact the Financial Aid Office.
