When is financial aid applied to account?

I logged into the student center, and it says that I have a balance due of $15k+. My financial aid is allegedly supposed to cover all costs less my family's expected contribution which is around $6k. Anybody have any idea why it's saying that I owe 15k? The only pending financial aid showing up is $500 tuition assistance from NY state.

I just realized that this is probably just the per-semester tuition for in-state statutory colleges, although it isn’t exactly half of what the full year tuition is (?). Does anybody know when the officials bills get sent out that include all of the other costs and financial aid?

Ignore what’s on your student center. The bill is released on the 7th of every month. You should get your first bill with your financial aid credited on 7th of this month (or maybe a few days later if things have changed).

@lelyke The bursar activity still shows resident tuition + activity fees, but no financial aid. Does it usually take longer for financial aid to be applied?

Bumping this question, because we still don’t see DD’s financial aid on her bill. How long does it usually take?

@mdcmom My FA showed up under the “recent” section of my netpay account a few days before my bill for the upcoming semester was posted on July 11th (right after I asked this question). All of the financial aid is included in the bill, even the stuff that hasn’t been completely approved (loans, state tuition grant, etc.).

I’d give the FA department a phone call, as I would assume that everything should be finalized by now (the fall semester’s bills are due August 7th).
