When is it ok to minor?

Hi I'm a current computer science major but I'm also in love with another minor, philosophy. I'd be proud that I'd be having a philosophy minor with my computer science major but is it worth it because these two majors are irrelevant of each other.

Employment wise, it probably won’t matter much and if anything, it just shows an interesting facet of yourself.

However, if you love it, go ahead and do it!

If you like the classes, do it. It’s always OK to minor. A lot of people study things that are irrelevant to each other. Although one might argue that philosophy is relevant to everything.

A philosophy minor might imply that you know how to write in English and not just in C. Always a good skill to have :)

Minors do not have to relate to each other. Minor in something that you enjoy. It can be a skill set or personal interest. They are easy to do. That’s why you have electives.

It’s always okay to minor :D

You can always minor as long as you have space in your degree program. If you don’t, then it’s better not to minor. Liberal arts majors have it easy because they have so many elective credits in their major.
