When is Jackie Robinson gonna give me some money?

??????

Did anybody else apply for the Jackie Robinson scholarship?

When do I get paid?

Deadline is April 1, no?

Hey... I just checked the site. April 1 is the deadline for submission, and notification is mid-July.

You seem pretty confident about your chances, LOL.

does my stuff have to be postmarked by april 1st or recieved. I think postmarked or at least i hope so because my counselor wont be able to send to out until friday.

dude ; im screwed. i thought the deadline was the 15th & we dont have school until the 3rd. oh well.

It's Jun 15, not July. It's on the site.

How competitive is this scholarship?

i dont know but i'm in the process of applying. i despise the 50 billion essay questions at the end but im so tired of scholarships that i'll proabably just wirte something short and simple.

So does it have to be POSTMARKED or RECEIVED by the 1st??

vtoodler: I'm guessing it's pretty competitive, 'cause it was on Fastweb. Can you imagine how many students had info on it?! Geez. Ah well, I'll give it a shot. Finishing up the last of the questions. Man oh man. SO...MANY!

Someone from the Jackie Robinson Scholarship Foundation left a message on our answering machine for my son to call for an interview later this month. Does anyone know if this scholarship can be used anywhere in the nation--or are these regional scholarships?

I think that it can be used anywhere in the US.

as long as the college is regionally accreditied.

I was contacted to schedule an interview in UCLA. Has anyone done this before? I'd like some "pointers" about clothes (formal/semiformal)and things to say.

I have an interview on the 20th. I cant believe I am a semifinalist!!!!! Yay!!!!!

does anyone know the chances of going from semi-final to final and to getting any money?

Has anyone heard that they received the Jackie Robinson Scholarship? My semi-finalist son interviewed on the same day as 8 other semi-finalists. He was told that 5 of the 9 would be chosen as recipients. Good luck to all!

I believe that if you're interviewed, you're already a finalist (but not a recipient).
I haven't heard from them yet, but just for the record: there're about 9 interviewers that sit around a table with you, much like a business meeting.
I doubt if I got the scholarship, but the interview was wonderful and friendly (so no worries there) and I encourage others to apply next year.

My son is a recipient! He received a phone call this evening, and more details will follow in the mail. We are in the California region.

With 9 interviewers that must be an intense interview!! After those essay questions what types of questions are asked?
