<p>Does anyone know when UIUC posts thier new app for the class of 2015? I want to get started on my essays.</p>
<p>Usually it is in September about mid-month and sometimes earlier in Sep. If you want to start essays early, you should go to the application from last year for essays required. Those will not change.</p>

<p>The essay to describe your acedemic interests and professional goals has been an essay topic for a little over 30 years with only minor changes in wording. About 4 years ago they went from one to two essays and added a “diversity” essay but last year changed that to discussing why you chose an extracuricular activity, work experience, or community service activity and benefited from it. There is some risk that second one could change again but they are likely to give it at least a two year test run. The wording of the first one could potentially change a little but not the topic.</p>
