When is the best time to ask for a transfer recommendation from a professor?

<p>It depends. Usually the professors finish the recommedation in a week. But, I'd rather suggest you ask recommendations at least one mouth before the deadline since you still have a lot of stuff to do, e.g essays</p>

<p>Toward the end of the term, or right after you get your grades. That way you know who's giving you an A :). If you already have that feeling, without waiting for the end of the term, you can ask at any time.</p>

<p>But, in general, asking right at semester break gives them plenty of time for apps which are mostly due in March. They can do it over the break if they want, or anytime after, and still meet the typical deadlines.</p>

<p>I think you should ask IMMEDIATELY after you find that you just aced your finals. That's pretty much the PERFECT time because you would have just finished their class. Plus, if you wait until a month before apps, then the second semester would have already have continued for about 1.5 months. They would have that much time to FORGET ABOUT YOU.</p>
