I see that it is 1/1/06… But on the online app i see it as 1/3/06. Which one’s right

It's 1/3... but I would play it safe and send by 1/1. Actually, "I would" is the wrong phrase... I already did send it.

oo really.. thats weird that one says 1/1 and otehr says 1/3.

i was going to ask this question earlier today. i don't think they'll respond to my emails, either. two days of editing would be oh so useful, though.

They're not open until the 3rd, so I think that they are just recognising that, de facto, it is going to be the 3rd rather than the 1st.

Actually, from the Brown website...

" The College Admission Office will be closed and we will be unable to respond to any phone calls or to any e-mail from 23 December through 1 January."

I was just going from the person in the thread below that claimed they would be closed 'till the 3rd, like many federal agencies. In fact, it is probably the latter that changed their deadline: the postal service will be closed the 1st and the 2nd, so having a deadline either of those days would be nonsensical.

So is it possible to submit my essay portion on the 2nd, after I call the Brown admissions office? Or will the online portion automatically shut down?

I was also wondering this; 2 days would be a great help for a lot of people. Do you think the app would be late if submitted on Jan. 3? Should we even take that risk?

I didn't risk it. I think it's a better and safer idea to get it in by Jan 1...

Okay, so everyone agrees that Brown changed their deadline to the 3rd of January. However, mail is not going to travel on Sunday (1st) or Monday (2nd). If the deadline is the 3rd, that usually means it needs to be postmarked before that date, thus it technically would need to be posted by the 2nd. That's not possible and neither is the 1st. Does that mean the deadline is still the 1st and I need to get everything postmarked by tomorrow afternoon, before the post offices close at 1pm?

Yup. If applying via snail mail.
