<p>MrsTweedy, we're in the same boat. We heard around noon last week. Our son is in BandCo. Yours is too isn't he? We're still waiting!</p>

<p>Can't help you guys out except to say that we got that second call at 9pm at night way back when. Son was given permission to use the outside pay phones because the lines were so long during the day. The same could happen today. Hang tight. It will come. SMILE while you're waiting! You have PC/s now!!</p>

<p>We were thinking maybe someone ELSE got that call... but can't bring ourselves to call and find out. :) So, maybe not. Maybe with all upperclassmen back they are simply "welcoming" them in the age old tradition of ages past -- harassing the beejeebers out of them..</p>

<p>Our son is in BandCo as well. We got our call last week at about 6:00 PM.</p>

<p>2nd company call came at 9:40 am Eastern today. and,,,who is Paul Dean?</p>
<p>We missed our PCs first call this morning at 10:07 - we were at church.
He called again at 5:11 - he said, "the easy part is over and the hard part is just starting"...can't wait to talk with him online later this week to get the scoop! He sounded okay...switched roommates yesterday - he's in a room with 2 others instead of just one - said he has NO room for anything...don't send him anything now as he only has 2 drawers for the stuff he already has...like I said, can't wait to get the full story later! Stay by the phone if you have not yet gotten your call!</p>
<p>We got our first phone call tonight around 6 p.m. (Last Sunday, he called his girlfriend!) It was so wonderful to hear from son! He said he is so happy there! He especially loves the sailing! Of course, I forgot to ask him all the questions! He said to send all the stuff...pillow, clock, fan, tea mix, and also safety glasses, as the ones he was issued are really scratched. I wish I had remembered to ask if it's OK to send the brownies!</p>
<p>Suzanne, you don't know about Paula Dean??? Where have YALL been??? She is on food network and is a hoot! Restaurant in Savannah, cooking school, magazine, cookbooks. Everything made with real buttahhh.</p>

<p>My son second company callled at 12:00 today. We went to KP to meet him at church but he wasn't there. Of course I was upset. My son who was home said he said he had some kind of sitting duty. He thinks he said sitting duty. Does anyone know what that means? Also, wouldn't they allow him to call again since we weren't here? Also does anyone know what 2nd company is allowed now? Phones, food?</p>
<p>Hope everyone has heard by now... Wow! We got 30 minutes with him! MORE than made up for the long wait today. Now he can call every Sunday for 30 minutes. Wanted a new water bottle, alarm clock and a good pillow. Any other groupies going to Canada to see the band next month?</p>

<p>He was suprized that we had seen the yell competition.</p>
<p>He sounded ready to start classes. Said they would be going on a tour tomorrow or Tuesday of the class rooms. He said that they would be getting their computers out and ready to go tomorrow.</p>
<p>He asked for an external hard drive to us as a backup for his computer. Thats a good idea I'm just not sure what to buy. I'm assuming something like a USB connection would be the best bet. Does anyone have the specifications on the laptops?</p>

<p>Zonker I am feeling your pain. I got 4:45. They must have started timing when he picked up the receiver.</p>
<p>Last week we stayed home from church waiting for the call, but it didn't come until evening. So today we decided to go to church, figuring he was unlikely to call during that small window of time, and would probably call in the evening again. Oh no--just as the priest started his sermon my cell phone started buzzing--husband, daughter, son and I stood up abruptly and rushed out to take the call!</p>
