When is the EXACT deadline for COMMON APP?

<p>Hey! I'm sure at least 2000 people have asked this question before, but my mind is just not working and can't find a response. When's the exact time for the January 1 deadline as stated on the common app? Is it 11:59 PM on December 31, or do we get an extra day on January 1 as well? Thank you!!!</p>

<p>For certain schools, there ARE 11:59, Dec. 31st deadlines–Notre Dame, for example, requires an applicant to submit by that time. Different schools have different deadlines.</p>

<p>There is no universal Common App deadline. When a day is specified as the application deadline, the time is generally 11:59:59 PM.</p>

<p>For example, Rice University’s deadline says Jan 1st. However, it is located in Texas and I live in California. Do I need to submit it at 9:59 on Dec 31st? Or does it go until 11:59 January 1st?</p>

<p>To be on the safe side, 9:59PM in CA, but I think you should just finish it now then you won’t have to worry about that</p>
