They talked about this date during registration. It's when everyone who has not paid yet for their classes get dropped completely and it allows people who have already paid to add/drop as they choose as the classes have open slots.

Yeah but I am sure those open slots will fill up again before you get the chance because there is a new registration on August 20th for students who haven’t registered yet.

I’ll be trying to add a class to take the place of another. when I register, would I have to start over with no classes and add them back in, or can I add the class I want (given that it’s open) and remove the class I don’t want without affecting any of the other classes?

if the class I want to switch into is currently Waitlisted, does that mean it has a less chance to open up on the 23rd (compared with a class that is Closed)?

You can check the number of people on the waitlist by joining it as soon as your registration opens. If there are like 5 people, I doubt you will get in, since most people have their schedules set in stone now because they have begun buying books, etc.

Closed classes open as soon (instantly) as another person drops it. Check the website very very very often and you will have a higher chance of getting a spot.

What really sucks is if you’re on two waitlists and one of the classes opens so you get forced into it, but a few days later the other class opens and it forces you into that. I wish there was a way I could undo it. Now I have to buy a different book :(. Unless, the class opens again.

MagicMan, you mean the add/drop? It opens on August 23rd:
L to R | 8a to 12n
S to Z | 9a to 1p
A to D | 10a to 2p
E to K | 11a to 3p
All 21 - 23 Aug students | 3p to 12m.

And if you have registered on August 20th for the first time, then it should be open right now, I think!
