<p>Is it useless to add Alternates as the same type of course but at a different time?</p>
<p>IE: Primary Chinese 001 Alternate Chinese 005</p>
<p>Does the scheduler try to get you into all instances of "Chinese" via Primary, meaning the Alternate should be TOTALLY different?</p>
<p>legend- don't worry if you don't get signed up in time... my first semester I signed up for 8 classes (4 and 4 backups) and I got into ONE of them, but then in add/drop I got back into all but one of my originals.</p>

<p>No it's not something you submit, you just have to have something laid out under the Registration tab under List</p>
<p>Backups can be different classes and/or times for recitations.</p>
<p>I didn't get into Intro Comm (130). Ha. Yay for not getting into my major's intro class. I actually just took it this year as a Junior.</p>
<p>Sometimes it's better that way. Gives you a competitive advantage and all.</p>

<p>Today is the end of "EARLY" Registration. don't panic if you haven't/will not sign up in time. You still have August, and then you can add/drop courses during the first two weeks (I think). So chill.</p>
