Just wondering, i still haven't gotten an interview yet. kind of worried.. should i call my ASC member in my area? i know her number... yale gave me her contacts and such.

Interview reports are due March 1st.

i don't think it should hurt not to get an interview...but they certainly DO help

how do they help?

Oh well... I didn't get an interview either ...

Sounds like a lot of people didn't get one. It won't hurt you. Most of the time they don't help. They just "corroborate" your app. So if something sounded bad, maybe it's good that you didn't have an interview to corroborate it lol

yeah i guess..

Never got a call or email from Yale for an interview. Really sucks.

i got mine on 5 jan. the interviewer called me halfway when i was making a presentation in school. silly me forgetting to place it on silent mode.

lol yea I had mine really early too. Jan 4. I kind of wish I had had it later, after some more interviews so that I would have had more practice (I ended up doing better for my later interviews I think), and after I had known how the whole scale system worked.

Scale system?

Yea, your interviewer ranks you from 1-9. A more detailed description can be found at the ASC page.

could u post the link? I haven't been contacted for an interview... Is it my fault for not contacting the admissions office about scheduling one or was I am I just suppose to sit and wait for them to call me?

No they're supposed to call you. Unless your ASC director first contacted you and asked you to call them if your interviwer hadn't contacted you in a month or something. That's a scenario too.

Here's the link to the ASC interview page:
http://www.yale.edu/asc/guidelines/writing.html

so it wont count against me that i didnt have an interview because i wasnt offered one?

woah that link is really interesting, is it just yale that posts interviewer information like that?

Darthmouth does too, but their interviews are much more laid-back; my interviewer said they only look at the applications in one out of 100 cases, if there's a decision to be made between two otherwise equal applicants. Nobody from Yale has contacted me for an interview, that might be a good thing.

"my interviewer said they only look at the applications in one out of 100 cases"

I'm confused by this statement

maybe he means they only look at interviews in one out of a hundred cases?

I just see it as bad news either way if you don't have an interview.

even though Yale says that interview isn't required or if you're not contacted, its ok, I feel that if they don't have an interview on record, they'll think that It's my fault somehow for not asking for one when I wasn't called in the first place.

Now its March and I feel kind of stupid that I didn't calll in February over the fact that no interviewer called me, should I even bother with calling Yale up and asking them about the interview now or should i not worry?
