I am a junior and I am taking the SAT for the first time next week, and I plan to take it again. But my question is, when? When is the next time I can take it but still have enough time to prepare? If I take it in senior year, will I get my results back in time to get it to the UC's I apply to?

And also I still need to take my SAT 2's. When do I take those? I'm assuming Junior year, because I am for sure taking Biology and since I'm taking AP Bio right now I need to take it while it is fresh in my head. So when is that?

My kid applied to UCLA and took SAT'I's in Oct. and Nov of senior year,
then the SAT-II's in Dec.
We called UCLA and made sure that was not too late, and we didn't even have to use special treatment ("Rush Scores"). They said definitely by phone, as long as the SAT's are taken in December (even tho the apps are due in November), they get the scores in enough time to use for their decision-making process. January is too late for them.
However, every year is different so don't count on us; check it through yourself with a phone call about next year.
