We were selected for verification. We used the irs DRT and also had a bunch of forms to fill out and include in the IDOC package, some of which actually said "verification" on the form.

None of the colleges have any more requirements listed on their finaid websites right now so does that mean we are done with the verification?

Or, does it mean after DS is accepted to schools, there will be more requests for information before he can get his finaid packages? Does he still need to check each day?

Thanks in advance, it's all so new to us and the first year doing this!

I am new to the verification process too. My H is done with our taxes. We file separately so we will have to send in a tax transcript. This is the one school where S got accepted to and wants to go. They have several different campus. Waiting to see what is FAFSA packet is. He wants to move to the main campus with his brother. His brother received a scholarship. So just waiting. I wish I had some idea. His brother is receiving the norm 5K. With his scholarship thats pretty good.

You should be done, for now. They should have enough info to put together a FA package.

Once DS has enrolled in a school, there might be some forms to sign, and “loose ends” that the FA office wants before they distribute any financial aid.

Thanks for your reply. It’s time consuming to keep signing in and checking each college so I’m just putting it out of my mind for now. I’m sure if some school wants some form badly enough, they will hopefully email and ask for it. We’ll just wait now and cross our fingers for acceptances and good finaid packages. Thanks again!
