So, report in all of you...how did your orientation go?

I got all the classes I needed to take, except for one of them which was full (my one sport management class, i'll just take it next semester). I don't have to wake up before 9:30 and don't go past 3:20. It was boring for the most part, you could have skipped everything the first day except the placement tests (which the foreign language one was hard for me, because I didn't take French in a year), the second day was the only one where what you did was actually important (got your classes, your ID, met with your advisor, etc.). Glad I didn't stay in the dorms, it was 90 and humid, and I loved the A/C and the pool at my hotel, haha. The rec center was fun because we played dodgeball and there was free food. Got to see downtown, where there are a ton of dining and shopping options I didn't know about. Also got to buy a ton of IU gear at Steve and Barry's. And got my football tix, can't wait for the 6-6 season!!! haha I can wish can't I?

GBAM-How is your S doing? Have you heard from UM? I can't wait to "greet" their football team in Bloomington 4 days after my birthday, haha.

i had a good time at orientation

Hey Wolves--Sounds very similar to my U-M orientation all those years ago, only you had some fun activities thrown in. Bloomington is a cool town, ethnic restaurants, decent shopping, etc. Glad you found more time to explore the area. Well, Michigan football sucked last season so will the Hoosiers really look so bad at that game this year? Haha.

All I remember from my orientation were meetings, placement tests, and sweating like pigs in south quad, I believe it was? In one of the lecture-type info. sessions, one of the deans actually told us to look at the person to the right of us, and then to the person to the left of us. Why? Because "only one out of three of you will be graduating in four years." Wow, did I ever feel excited to come back in September!! My H. had the same speech at his orientation the previous year. I sure hope it's not so cut and dry and "alarmist" for incoming students now, and that they actually show them a good time in and around Ann Arbor.

S. is doing fine, working hard. He's working as a construction laborer at a job site in your hometown, and is following his coach's summer conditioning program as prep for the football season.

Hey mike...man of few words (LOL)...glad orientation was a good time!

The game is at IU this year, and Indiana has offensive firepower. Hardy (the best WR in the Big Ten and their best player) was out the game last year, and IU still had a lead. It would be a magical experience if Michigan lost to Indiana any time during my years there. But then again, IU hasn't had a winning season in 11 years. I've had to work so much this summer like your S, it's ridiculous. Construction is good for football conditioning, and it pays for football, lol.
