I realize there’s likely a real word for it. I am considering only taking 3 academic classes this semester; I’m really busy and would much appreciate a practice/homework period. I’d still be taking a ‘full’ 6 period schedule by our school’s standards, 3 music classes and 3 APs, but wondered how negative this would affect admissions chances. And more to the point, how would colleges know until after I had been accepted? And what would it take for them to drop me? For that matter, could I get bad grades? Could I quit some of the more silly clubs? Do I still have to graduate?

I will answer one question: yes, you still have to graduate to go to college.

Thanks, I was actually just kidding on that one. But has anyone heard of students being dropped?

Do you mean do colleges ever rescind admissions?

thank you- yeah, that's what I meant. Rescind. What un ugly word.

to be rescinded, you can try to murder someone, get an F (or even a D), or smuggle in notes druing your finals.
Results guaranteed.

Indeed, D's or F's may very well do it. Add to list: Leave threatening telephone message on director of admission's answering machine.

Incidentally, rescind is a beautiful word.

Though it's rather wishy washy of me, I have to agree with you, Tore. Rescind. Rescind. The most beautiful sound I've ever heard...
Is this information good? So is there really no need to maintain one's gpa during second semester of senior year?

There's another post on that...there are some reasons...if transferring later, etc.
