This is my question.
People often say some schools are reach and some are extreme reach.
Does that mean that there is no chance of admissoin whatsoever
In terms of general and very broad percentage, what percentage does that amount to?

It just means that the school is a reach per applicant. A reach means the person will have to work a little harder to get in, whereas an extreme reach is a euphimism for “probably not.” There is no percentage because it changes with each applicant to each school. Of course, most of the top 15 or 20 schools are reaches for everyone, simply because so many people apply to them.

Reach: 10-15% est.
Extreme/Large/High Reach: .01 - 5%

^ Eh? Not on CC. When people on this site are told a college is a reach, it is more around 20-25, not 10-15. In real life, you would be correct, but CC…well, I get the feeling that half the people here are imaginary. :P
