When preparing for a career, what is more important? undergraduate or graduate school? Or are both important?

For example, if someone is majoring in movie direction, does it matter if he/she goes to Yale first instead of a college that specializes in motion picture, then go there for his/her graduate degree?

also, what schools are the strongest in careers such as movie direction?

bump bump bump

I think most directors don't have related degrees. That might be changing as more schools offer it.

graduate degree almost always trumps undergrad degree. but in certain fields, perhaps in movie direction where this may be necessary, you may build a bigger network through your undergraduate years. another factor could be that the degree doesn't matter at all and it is talent (and connections) that does.
