When RD Decision will be announced

@semivamp I’d actually guess March 14th, because it seems to be the second friday of the month every year, and it’s finally rolling back to the point where the 7th would be the first friday. (It was the 14th in '08). Then again, I was leaning towards friday march 15th last year & I believe they came out on the eighth, so my “gut”/“opinion” is really just speculation like everyone else here.

Also, I’m an alum (c/o '13) and the only thing I gain from decision day is finding out if the 6 kids I interviewed got in. I’m gonna be hella upset when inevitably some of them get waitlisted/rejected. It’s strange out a 30 minute conversation with some of them made me super vested in some of their college futures.

FWIW, I’m a parent of a WUSTL freshman, and my wife and I are hosting an admitted student reception at the end of the month- this means that students will need to be admitted early enough so that he school can notify the students of the receptions going on. I still predict today as the day, but who knows? Good luck.

Noooo. I’d really like a college decision soon. It’s so weird–I didn’t even care about colleges until I realized that Wash U (the first one I’ll hear back from) was releasing results in the next week or so, and then I suddenly started to care a whole lot. Hopefully it’s in the next few days after all!

@PsychoDad10 - I sure hope you are correct!

Do they release decision online on the WUSTL Pathway?

^^ Yes on Pathway

Hopefully we can hear something by tomorrow, if not then may be 1 more WEEK of wait.

^@hoggirl- I hope I am right, for everyone’s sake- mainly for the students who are so eager to hear- my son’s decision last year (accepted) came out exactly at 5 PM EST on Thursday, March 7, exactly when we predicted. But to all, remember the old adage- “past performance is not a predictor of future results”- hope this adage is wrong.

If decision are not released tonight or tomorrow night, I do not know if I can handle another stress-filled week of waiting. I love WashU, especially after my campus visit for their pre-medicine day. Good luck to all applicants and hopeful future Bears.

@PsychoDad10 - I thought last year RD decision came out on March 8th at 5pm. Are you sure about Thursday…

How is your son Enjoying the freshman year, I remember he choose WUSTL over John hopkins and UMAA.

Last year’s threads indicate it was the 8th.

Called Admissions. They said decisions will be released next week.

^^ I guess March 14th will be the date then if not March 7th… They normally announce on Fridays…

my question is will the admissions office be open next week? That is because Wash U’s spring break is next week and the office was closed during their winter break and for MLK Day

@mollyl2
I believe that WashU Admissions officers work during spring break as well so they will definitely be open because the break is not something like a Christmas holiday or a national day like MLK day.

I stand corrected- last years decision came out March 8- a Friday

Why is Friday the popular day to release decisions? Wouldn’t they expect a wave of calls and emails the day after? Letting those all pile up until that Monday doesn’t seem wise IMO.

@tropicalslushies
That is my question as well but who knows… Colleges each have their own system of doing things. Most schools do seem to release on either end of the weeks or beginnings of weeks. Or particularly significant days like April 1st or last day of March, etc. Ivy Day this year is a Thursday, so I guess it all depends. However, I think that this year, a gut feeling tells me, Washington University in St. Louis will break “tradition” and release decisions next Thursday.

I think ED heard on a Wednesday so who knows

Exactly. If they release decisions on a Friday, then if results come a little late, they have the whole weekend to wait before calling admissions on Monday. Usually, if you wait a little longer, the problems will be solved.

Ugh that’s disappointing! I was hoping for tomorrow. Another week.
