When Recommendations go Bad

I got two great recommendations early, then, a day before my apps are due, my english teacher gives me mine, and I can't even count how many typos there were, or occurrences of "him" when it should be "her." It also pretty much said nothing about me. Alas! The formulaic rec.

Anybody else have bad rec(s)? Of course, assuming you are allowed to see them.

Also, my guidance counselor told me that colleges won't care. I'm kind of assuming that as well. But would it make my school look bad? the fact that my english teacher doesn't proofread her own stuff? Colleges probably get a million recs like that, though, so I'm actually not too worried about it (though disappointed).

Do kids from your school get admitted to the colleges that require recs? If they do then I guess you have the answer. It is amazing how unprofessional some teachers can be..........and that you got to see it.

it was a rec for a college that didn't care about me seeing it, so I haven't seen the millions of forms I made my teachers fill out (poor them). I hope they're good. They're for the higher-end colleges.
