When reviewing an applicant, do colleges look at ACT sub-scores?

I am asking because I do well on three sections but i always do badly on one of the sections, which brings down my composite.

depends. Let’s say you indicated you want to be an engineering student. But you get a 25 on your Math and 30s on all the other three. This wouldn’t look good for you, see?

@T26E4‌ Well, do you think they will look at the subscores if I’m a business major?

what’s your real question? What sub section are you concerned about? Maybe you’re spking about Math: I dunno. Your math might not be the best – but how bad is it? If it’s bad enough, it might catch someone’s attention.

Why wouldn’t they use everything they can to evaluate your likelihood of success in their program? For instance, if they KNOW that ppl who intend to be business majors with a math score of 22 or less are fabulously unsuccessful, they’ll act on it. Who can say? And it depends on the selectivity level of the college you’re applying to.

You’re speaking in generalities. You can’t expect succinct answers.

And dude, you avatar is freaking me out! LOL

E: 33 M: 28 R: 26 S: 26 C: 28.25

Expecting around 30 for science this time, though, so my reading will be my downfall.

composite 28 allows you many choices. Maybe not Wharton or Harvard – but you’ll be fine. If you can retake and boost some, by all means do so.

Thanks! @T26
