Hi! I'm a high school junior and I'll be applying to summer residential programs for the next couple of months. I'd ideally want to spend my summer in a prestigious pre-college camp, but since the selective programs don't notify you of acceptance or rejection until April or May, I won't know whether I'm attending until summer's almost here. If an internship is my backup plan, when should I apply to employers? If I start now, I might have to withdraw if accepted into a high school summer program, but if I wait, there probably won't be any internships left. What should I do?

apply now 10c

Just walk in and demand an internship.

You didn’t get any good responses. Just thought I’d point out the the US State department opened their intern app today.

I’m awkwardly obsessed with semi-colons, colons, and dashes. It’s a problem. :p

My school is really good of finding internships. Like the Board of Education, Bio-medical Research, and etc. This summer I’ll be an intern at a Veterinary Hospital. It didn’t just came to me, I had to work really hard lol. My dad and I, had to go to Veterinary hospitals, and see if they had/allowed internships. I would apply now.

Same position as you…im going to apply to a few now, and if I get accepted to my top choice summer program ill just notify the internship that I cant make it.
