When should I ask for LoR?

<p>Now I'm in UCLA as a freshman, but I want to transfer to another schools.
So I think I have to ask for recommendation to the professors who teach me in this quarter.
And I'm not sure when should I ask them for. My final ends in Dec. 10, and next day I'll go to home and return to school in Jan. 6. When will be the good time to ask? Before winter break (like after a final of each class..?) or After? </p>

<p>Also, is it okay to ask them first as an email and if they say yes then bring the commonapp copy, envelope..etc? or is it better to visit their office and ask. </p>

<p>At last, are they usually admit the recommendation request..? I'm waiting for your answer. Thank you!</p>

<p>You should probably ask sooner rather then later to give them enough time, and ask them in person, then bring them the envelopes and forms if they say yes (or have them with you).</p>
