Apparently MIT still hasn't processed my recommendations and according to the USPS tracking, they received the material on the 4th (postmarked 10/31). Does this mean that I don't need to worry about them since USPS says they're delivered?

According to Ben's blog, I'm suppose to fax anything over if it's not processed by the 14th. But I don't know how to do that with recommendations...I'll probably have to ask my teachers to fax them.

Same here. I also sent in my transcript separately from the secondary school report and they haven't been processed yet. Did I have to send them at the same time? My counselor said that I could send them in separately.

Arent guidance counsellors annoying!? Mine apparently could not take my recommendations and transfer them 2 feet to the folder I gave her...ahhhh

"Between the US mail and processing delays, please be patient and allow two weeks, from the time you think something was mailed, for the tracking system to be accurate. If on November 14th the tracking system still shows missing items, fax the materials to 617-258-8304."

My teacher recs haven't shown up yet...I think I'll wait until the 14th.

Just to give people who are still waiting a time frame, I know for a fact that one of my teacher recommendations was sent out on Oct. 27th. It only got processed today. It's a little over two weeks, and I was just planning on calling them today when I went online, and everything was all labeled "processed". I was so happy, haha, so I'd give it a few more days until the 14th. After that, all we have to do is wait. Good luck everyone :)

Does anyone know how the admissions office handles incoming mail? Do they necessarily "process" mail as it is coming in? In other words, would it ever make sense for a letter that arrived earlier than another to be "processed" later?

All mail coming into the admissions office gets sent to the records room. I think they really try to process mail as it's coming in, but it wouldn't surprise me if things were processed out of order, especially if they were sent around the deadline.

hmm... I guess I'll call the admissions office tomorrow if my Evaluation B (which was sent first) is still not processed, and ask my teacher if she can fax the recommendation to the office. I just hope the evaluation shows up processed tomorrow.

Yea my stuff finally got processed today. Should I email them to ask if they received my supplemental stuff? I don't know if I should since they were mailed in the same package as the teacher recs, so I'm 90% sure that MIT received them. The only possibility is that they might have lost it or misplaced it after they received it.

It will apparently take till Monday for all the mail
to be processed (11/19); If on Monday morning your
stuff is missing its definitely missing......

:)

...makes me wonder if a ton of people applied EA - i.e a lot more
than usual....
