When should I expect Goucher's decision for EA?

Hey everyone!

As of Thursday, Goucher has received/processed all of my materials and they are starting to evaluate my application.

When should I expect a decision?

Thanks!

Refer to my other Goucher Post for Admission Stats

I don’t know, but I applied EA on November 15. Let me know when you find out.

np orwell… I submitted my EA app on 10/23; I think everyone gets their decision at the same time (last week of January) so it’s getting closer

since goucher has gone green, and doesn’t really print papers out, do you think we will find out online first? or through the post?

most likely through acceptance packets… perhaps online, but I don’t think so

My impression is that it would be on paper.

Thanks, and yes I understand we would get letters through the mail…I just wasn’t sure wether it would be posted online- on our app status pages, or in email, first

Not sure where I got the impression, but I thought no online posting or e-mail. Could be wrong about that, however.

also waiting for my EA letter to come, so if you guys hear something let me know

I’m waiting as well. Goucher’s site says notification by February 1st, but I’m hoping that my letter comes before then.

Bump! I got mine in the mail today. Yay, accepted! =D

S got his thick envelope today, too.

D got her notification yesterday also - accepted.

Congrats, All! My D received her acceptance today!

I’m very excited as I am a Goucher alum. and know, firsthand, the benefits of a Goucher education. I don’t know what my D will decide in the end, but I’m so glad that Goucher is an option for her.

Congrats to all. My d is midway through her 2nd year. Remains very happy with the quality of her experience.

S2 got the fat envelope yesterday. We have not visited Goucher, but I liked the write-up in CTCL, and he liked what he saw on the web-site. I think we’ll try to schedule a visit - he also got accepted at McDaniel.

He is interested in political science and public policy. I would like to hear more from people who visited or go to Goucher.

Hi mom2sons–we visited Goucher last July. I did a visit report–it’s the most recent Goucher visit report, so it’s easy to find. We had checked out Goucher early on and thought it would be a great fit for our son. He was slow in biting. But we were going down to DC to visit George Washington U, and I suggested that since we were going right by Goucher we might as well stop and visit. He loved it, and it went right to the “must apply” list. I wish I had been able to talk him into applying EA, but he wanted to wait until he was done with 2nd term to finish his applications.

mom2sons–My son received acceptance on Friday. We visited in the Spring–beautiful campus, and that was before the new building was completed. Son attended a class, thought it was great. Really nice people, terrific programs (study abroad is extensive), proximity to Baltimore. Son really loved it. Might not be his first choice, but close. I would be very happy if he went there.

nightchef & nepop - thanks for the comments. I did look at the visit reports. The campus and location sound wonderful. (If I had a D, I would worry about being within walking distance of a mall - LOL!)

Can you tell me a bit about the kind of students at Goucher? Are they sort of preppy, hippie, intellectual, or a diverse group?

Our son is very interested in Goucher. We visited twice, once last spring and once last summer. Nice campus, although the dorms we saw seemed a little tired (no big deal, though).

Its location is just about ideal for us. Within easy walking distance of a fair amount of things to do, and just a quick ride to Baltimore or even DC. We took the train for one of our trips (from New England), which was easy and fast. He loves the idea of being able to go back and forth that way.

I would say the vibe was laid-back and eclectic. Our son is decidedly middle of the road (neither preppy nor hippie), and he felt quite comfortable. They have very strong first year programs, which is also appealing, since our son is just starting to come into his own, and I’m a little nervous about the transition.

He applied EA and was admitted just last Friday. I think it’s at or near the top of his eleven school list. In fact, for him the only downside is that they do not have any Geology offerings, which is something he’s lately expressed as a possible area of interest.
