When should I hear back? Class of 2022

So I sent in my Indiana Bloomington Kelley School application in and it was received on 11/5/17. A lot of other people I know who have sent in their application around that time have already gotten in, and the majority of them have lower scores/GPA then me (if that matters for timing). I thought you heard back in 2-3 weeks so I am a little confused. Do they release decisions on a certain day of the week each week? When should I expect to hear back?

I applied on 11/1 and I got a response 11/29! Itʻs about 3 weeks if you donʻt count thanksgiving week because there is nobody in the admissions office for a few days. Call your region based admissions guide!

I called and emailed my rep the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, she emailed me back on Monday and I got my acceptance on Tuesday. Goodluck

@kkarssenn how long did you wait before calling/emailing? Curious to know how long I should wait before doing so, I submitted a complete application on 10/29 and received completed app notif on 11/1. However, I sent quarter one grades and updated test scores 11/27 and still no decision, should I call?

I would call and if they don’t answer leave a message asking if there’s anything they need from you, talk about how you love Indiana and if you visited the school mention that too, say your phone number, email, and i think your IU acct # (if there’s one i don’t remember). If they pick up you’re lucky, if not, email saying your name and say you left a message for them. Call your regional rep if you know their #, you can probably call the normal admissions office and ask. Good Luck!

even if they pick up email your regional admissions person saying thank you for considering your application and thank them for their taking the time out of their day to talk to you!

Sorry for the bad grammar!!!

My son applied 10/31 and everything was submitted on time but he has not heard anything yet. Seems like a lot of people that also applied then have heard already. He called his regional admissions counselor. She did not answer, left a message but did not return his call. Should he have heard by now? He has good stats, #1 in class, 1450 SAT, 4.0 UW GPA, strong ECs.

I feel like they may be a bit backlogged due to the 11/1 deadline. He will be accepted without an issue. My son applied in early September and it still took a month.

@Brownsl I wouldn’t worry about it too much. There was probably a delay due to Thanksgiving break and a large amount of applications around the same time. Your son is guaranteed to get in with those stats. If you wait another couple weeks and still haven’t heard anything, I would call again.

Has anyone submitted Kelley petition after Dec 1st date?

Thanks for the replies!

Part of my concern is how my son’s high school has done his transcript that they sent and whether it might be causing an issue. For the AP courses he has taken it says on the transcript that they are on a 5.0 scale; however, the school is actually not doing it that way for the students in his grade. Instead, those in his class that have taken AP courses get some very small amount added to their AP course grade. It is something like an additional 0.001. I have no idea why they are doing it this way but his class was really the first to have the opportunity to take AP courses at the school. Will this cause any issue when they see he has take 6 or so AP courses, gotten all As, but has a GPA that is much lower than what it should be based on the scale provided on the transcript?

Maybe have his guidance counselor contact Indiana and see if they need clarification on anything?

@nvvsir I would call soon, I called about a month after I sent in my application. Pretty much was an attempt for me to introduce myself to the school on a personal level. It was super stressful leaving a voicemail, but she emailed me back and I got my acceptance online the next morning!

.

I just checked my portal and was also admitted! Congratulations hopefully I’ll see you around campus next fall. @kkarssenn

@nvvsir download the accepted students app and feel free to search for Karsen and message me!! (I’m the only Karsen so far & I don’t want to post my last name on here)

whats the app called I wasn’t aware that there wasnt one. @kkarssenn

Finally, heard from IU … my son was accepted. Applied on 10/31.

Got accepted today. Applied 11/13. When should I receive a decision from Kelley? (Meet the Direct Admit requirements!)
