I was just wondering about when to send AP scores to the colleges I'm applying to. Collegeboard says that students have to write the schools' names before they take the tests. But at that time (early May) I wouldn't have applied to any of the schools YET, so how is it gonna work if the colleges don't even have my files set up?
Then, on the other side, it would cost me about $15 per exam to request the scores to be sent AFTER taking the test. I don't get how this can work.. Can anyone help me out here??

Don't send the AP scores to the schools you're applying to. Wait until you are accepted and have chosen your college, and send the scores to that school only. Colleges don't want the official AP scores unless you're actually using them to replace classes., after you're attending.

Oh, thanks for your input, A.S.A.P!!!!!!

Ditto to what A.S.A.P said. Don't send an official score report till after you decide where you're going. Your applications will ask you to list AP scores, so you can selectively list/omit AP scores on your apps.

When you register for AP exams senior year, you might have figured out where you'll be going - in that case, you can list your college and get the score report sent for free. If you haven't yet decided, then you can list one of your choices and fill out a change of school form before the deadline (June-ish, I think)
