I'm applying ED to Rice (deadline Nov. 1st) and EA to Tulane (deadline Nov. 15th). I plan on sending my ACT and my SAT II scores. The ACT and 2 out of 3 SAT II scores are ready now, the thirds SAT II score is ready on Oct. 25th. How should I go about sending it all in? I know probably send in the ACT soon. Should I wait for all my SAT IIs to be ready before I send in any of them?

Thanks

Each school is different in whether test scores can come in after the application deadline or must be in by that deadline. So you need to check that.

Your choices for sending SAT scores is regular speed or rush for an extra fee. It can take 2 weeks for the scores to get there regular speed.

So you either will end up paying twice to send what you have now and then pay again for the last SAT 2 or you can wait until the final SAT 2 is ready and send them rush once.

With the Rice deadline of Nov 1. I would call the common app and ask when scores that are ready on Oct 25 get the to school if sent rush so you know how tight the timing is.

Send your ACT now.

On your SAT registration, you can designate up to 4 schools for free to receive them. Designate those schools. You have up to 10 days after the test to change the schools. They will get them before the 11/1 cutoff.

Now, if you want to see the scores before you send them, then that is a different question. Send your scores now (don’t wait for the Oct test). Then you will have to manually send them again if you like the scores. No guarantee they will get them in time. But, at least they will have the other scores.

FYI: don’t use rush reporting. No school I know of likes it. They rather have it electronically via regular reporting.

We did use rush reporting for one school close to the deadline for my son. I wasn’t aware that school’s didn’t like them. I figured close to deadlines they actually expect it.

With the Rice deadline only 5 business days after Oct 25, I would still check with the collegeboard.

They don’t like Rush Reporting because it is snail mail. Regular reporting is Electronic. By the time they get snail mail and enter it into their system, the electronic reporting is already posted. Ergo, don’t bother them with rush reporting.

Rush reporting is good for scholarship and other honors, where they process everything manually anyway.
