I have a list of colleges and I sent my ACT and SAT scores to the first half of my colleges so far because I am for sure going to apply to those. But i still have a couple that I am still iffy on so I don’t want to send the scores there just yet until I do a bit more research because I might end up not applying. When should I send my scores to those schools to meet the January 1st deadline of most of these schools?
The sooner the better. Many people in the admissions office or ACT or CollegeBoard will be off work starting next weekend. Computer systems can go down when the IT guy is on vacation etc etc. I would aim to have your supporting documentation in by next week.
I still have like 5 schools that I haven’t submitted yet and their deadlines are Jan 1 - 4
How long does SAT take to send score reports? And does it matter if the score is received by the school like on Jan 7 or something?
i need to know too
What are you waiting for?
@txstella I am applying to way too many schools (too many test score fees), I’m torn between whether I should apply to these or not.
I think I get the situation. You are a low income student who is trying to get a lot of aid at a school that meets full need.
I think you should look at the least selective schools on your list (I realize this is relative) and finish those apps. For engineering, you should apply to Rice. I am an alum. The financial aid is terrific.
It usually takes about 3 weeks. My college guidance counselor has always said to send them one month in advance just to be safe. However, if you let your colleges know your situation, I’m sure they will understand your delay and let you know when they need to be in by. You can self-report in the meantime.
