Hi! I'm currently a sophomore in high school, and I was wondering when I should start building my recruiting profile? And which program would be the best fit?

It depends on which sport, male or female, which level you want to play. Most D-1 boys lacrosse teams recruit sophomores, and most girls are recruited summer between sophomore and junior years. Spring sports in general are recruited before senior year because there isn’t time for the coaches to see much senior year.

We need more info. Sport, level at which you play, gap and test scores, area of the country, etc.

@takeitallin I am a Sophomore female, currently going into the JV team. I’m looking at D1 colleges, west side of the U.S. I haven’t taken most college tests year, as they usually occur next year.

Still not sure what sport and recruiting can vary quite a bit among the different ones. Now is really a good time to start building your profile. Make sure to start keeping your stats for whatever sport you are doing. Also talk to your coaches to find out where college coaches for you sport recruit from- from high school teams, from club teams, etc. It would be helpful to find someone who has been recruited in your sport and find out how they were recruited. A good place to start would be to find out if your stats are in the ballpark for recruited athletes in your sport. If you are not sure, see if your coaches can give you an assessment. You can also start looking at the NCAA website to become familiar with requirements for Div. 1 and 2 athletes. We can be much more specific if we know what sport you take part in.

From another post, the sport is basketball.

@takeitallin
